Toe-Up Socks - with Kate Atherley
This class is suitable for knitters that have made a couple pairs of socks before and are ready to explore new constructions in sock knitting!
In this 2 hour class learn how to make socks from the toe up on double-pointed needles. Learn the finer points of sock anatomy by creating a mini “training sock!” We teach you everything you need to know - from appropriate cast-ons, to turning the heel, to good stretchy bind offs!
Once you’ve mastered the mini, you will be ready to get started on your first full-size sock.
This class includes:
- One 2 hour session
- Sock Patterns: A wee sock pattern for learning the key skills, and an adult sock pattern to get you started.
Skills Needed: Students must already know how knit in the round on DPNs ( or magic loop if you prefer ). and already have made at least a couple of socks!
Please Bring : 4.00mm DPNs, about 25g of a smooth worsted weight yarn in a light colour.
You will want to get started right away on your first pair of socks, you might also want to grab some 2.50mm DPNS and grab some sock yarn that speaks to you!
