And just a reminder... We will be taking a class hiatus for the hot month of August. Look for the fall schedule to be posted in the last week of August!
In the first two hour class we will talk about fiber types and animals and fiber preparation. We will play with twist energy, and learn the park and draft method on a bottom whorl and top whorl spindle. Take the spindle home and spin for a week before we return and review our skills.
The next week, we will review, and learn the new skill of plying yarn and the finishing techniques of yarn. Denny's love of spindle spinning and teaching becomes evident through the conversations of the spinning community, samples and equipment she brings to class.
No previous spinning experience needed. That's right you don't need any skills at knitting to learn how to make yarn.
Warning: we are not kidding about the addictive part. And the best part... you can take your drop spindle anywhere and spin away... 'tis very portable and awe-inspiring.
|This four hour class over two weeks, will introduce you to this age old skill using a very simple drop spindle.
