Now you know the basic stitches...so let's mix it up a bit. 

Do you need a little guidance on how to tackle your next desired project? Are you stuck on a stitch pattern in the project you are working on?  Are your joins a bit wonky? Book a space in this project class and let's get you going!  Crochet is supposed to be fun!

Crochet 101 - Fundamentals

In these 2 sessions you will be introduced to the speedy and wonderful world of crochet! Learn (or refresh your knowledge of) the basic stitches chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, double and treble crochet. Come on in and get hooked on crochet and get started on this addictive form of yarn play with confidence! No need to bring anything...we will provide you with the means to get started!

Crochet A-Round

Now that you know the basics, where do you go next? Let's get you working crochet in the round!   So many items can be whipped up in the round, from hats to slippers to rugs and more... We will show you how to work in the round flat (think rugs) and the not so flat (think hats)!  Round and round and round we go!

Skills required: Chain, Single Crochet, Double Crochet

Intro into Tunisian Crochet

A lovely combination of crochet and knitting, Tunisian crochet creates a woven fabric that is adaptable to many types of projects with endless possibilities for embellishing. This class will take you through the basic stitches of this wonderful technique. A great addition to your repertoire.

Crochet Granny Squares & Hexagons

Tuesday, March 13; 7:00 - 9:00pm

Granny squares are a speedy and varied technique in crochet which are very good to have in the repertoire! For those who have already learned the basics of chains, single and double crochet stitches. Come learn the basics of the ubiquitous Granny Square, how to change colours, join your squares together and how to work a hexagon...a cool variation of the good ol' granny square!

Crochet For Knitters

Saturday, February 25;  10:00am-12:00pm

Crochet is an incredibly useful skill for the knitter.  This 2 hour session teaches you how to bring the power of the crochet hook to your knitting -- to pick up dropped stitches and fix mistakes, for painless seaming, for creating decorative edgings and joins, and for the mysterious and wonderful provisional cast-on.

Skills required: Knit & Purl, Cast On/Off

--HOMEWORK: Please bring: two 6" squares of stocking stitch worked with 4 or 5mm needles and worsted weight yarn, some scrap yarn of the same weight in a contrasting colour and a 4.5mm crochet hook.
